Welcome to the 2019-20 New Jersey HFMA Chapter Year!
It is my privilege to be serving as the President of the New Jersey Chapter of HFMA. Thanks to all of you with whom I’ve worked over the years in making this a Chapter that we can truly be proud of, a Chapter that consistently meets or exceeds the needs of our members. Be it through the monthly calls that our various committees host where timely information is shared among colleagues, at our numerous in-person educational events that are held throughout the year, through our popular webinar series, or at the Annual Institute in October where we gather every year for two and a half days of education and networking, the NJ Chapter excels at all we do. And of course I’d be remiss if I didn’t include the many networking opportunities available throughout the year, where all are welcome to come and relax with friends and colleagues, while participating in fun activities. I’m still not sure about that ax throwing, but it sounds like the participants really enjoyed themselves!
Of course none of this happens without the dedication of our Board, Committee Chairs and Co-Chairs, volunteers and of course our loyal sponsors. There is so much available, and all you have to do is get involved. If you’re new to HFMA or the NJ Chapter, or if you’re a member looking to enhance your knowledge and your career while working collaboratively with your peers from other organizations, I’d suggest that you visit our Committee page at http://hfmanj.org/Committees. Here you’ll find a listing of our active committees, a description of their purpose, contact information, and meeting/conference call dates and times. No advanced registration is required, so why not join a call that focuses on your interests and job duties. You’ll be amazed at what you can learn from a monthly conference call that will enhance your efficiency and knowledge.
The Chapter maintains an active website that is routinely updated with information about our upcoming events. Also on the website is contact information for the Chapter’s Leadership Team. Feel free to reach out to any of us with any questions or comments you may have, or just to say hello. Four times a year we publish the Garden State Focus, the Chapter’s award winning journal that contains timely articles of interest to all in the healthcare industry, whether you are a provider, payer or consultant. And the Pulse, our weekly email newsletter, will also assist in keeping you up to date on all Chapter activities.
In closing I’d like to thank once again the Chapter’s Officers, Directors, Committee Chairs and Co-Chairs, and all of our members who volunteer their valuable time to the Chapter. I hope to get to know you all through our work together throughout the year.
