Welcome

Session 1 – Revenue Recognition

Accounting Standards Codification (“ASC”) 606 – revenue recognition presents major changes to the manner in which hospitals, health systems and post-acute care organizations such as continuing care retirement communities’ account for revenue. This presentation will help you better understand the objectives and requirements of ASC 606 that specifically affect your organization. Additionally, we will discuss potential implementation issues related to self-pay patients, including uninsured patients and self-pay balances arising from co-pays and deductibles. Lastly, we will discuss the portfolio approach as a practical expedient to account for patient contracts as a collective group.

Heather Weber, CPA, Partner, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP

Session 2–Trump Administration And What This Means For Providers?

This session will provide an overview of what the new administration’s current views are and what changes are anticipated that will have an impact on healthcare providers.  Healthcare organizations need to understand the impact that any changes, enacted and proposed, under the new administration would impact the infrastructure investments that were made in order to be compliant with the Affordable Care Act.

Additionally, this session will include a refresher of IRC §501(r) and Community Health Needs Assessment with an emphasis on new items and changes and a discussion of best practices and actual implementation strategies undertaken by various healthcare provider organizations.
